How do I become a Member

To become a member of NELG you need to complete an application form either online or by paper/post. In addition we will require payment of your membership fees payable as a cheque to 'NELG' and sent to the address indiacted lower down this page.
PLEASE ATTACH YOUR CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS TO THE CHEQUE SO IT CAN BE MATCHED UP TO YOUR MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT.

We will also need copy of some form of document which demonstrates that your are qualified to work in general practice in the UK. This must ONE of the following

What are the membership fees ?

Our membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August and your subscription will become renewable on 1st September each year and NOT on the anniversary of your joining date.

Online applications are the preferred method of joining NELG. The current fees for ONLINE applications are:
£10 for a year (payable by members joining from 1st september to 1st march)
£5 for members joining between 1st march and 3oth June
£10 for members joining after 1st July which will give them membership until 31st August the following year.

If you wish to apply by post there will be a £5 surcharge on all of the above fees.

Can GP registrars join ?

GP registrars are not permitted to do locums however may join NELG no more than 3 months prior to the expected date of completion of their training. This should be indicated on their application form. When discussing bookings with practice managers they should also make it clear that they have not completed their training.
