OSCE Training: Assessing Clinical Skills
The OSCE has established itself as a reliable and effective means of assessing clinical and communication skills. However, as with all methods of assessment, it has its strengths and its weaknesses. This is a practical hands-on session, designed to give anyone involved in OSCEs the information and skills to enable them to feel more confident in examining the OSCE.

In this interactive workshop we will draw on the experiences of the participants to define the major causes of poor performance and to discuss options for remediation. These options may range from the pastoral to the disciplinary and we will explore the range of support mechanisms that the medical school and base units already have in place and explore what other provision may be beneficial.
