All GPs are required to undergo annual appraisal. National agreements between the Department of Health and the BMA have secured funding to ensure this occurs in protected time for all GPs whether partners, salaried or locums.

The revalidation pilot which took place in this region focusing on sessional GP has now concluded and the report is available through the link below.
The NHS appraisal toolkit ceases to be free in october 2010 and NHS North of Tyne has produced a pack which can be completed and submitted as a single item to meet all the current evidence requirements for appraisal. The only things which need to be submitted in addition are last years FORM4/PDp and proof of medical indemnity.
